Taking the Cape to Atlanta

In the most epic St. Patrick’s Day weekend ever, our Cape Reserve team spent 3 days in Atlanta on a retreat with the biggest social calendar scheduled EVER! Between our plans for paint-balling, karaoke, a comedy club, a brewery, meetings with motivational speakers and more, we knew that it would be one great memory after another. The way we see it, when you have a group as hard-working and deserving as ours, reinvesting in their happiness is the smartest business decision we could ever make.

The weekend started off on Thursday with a night out on the town for St. Patrick’s Day and in honor of the holiday – beer tasting! We went to this awesome brewery called Monday Night Brewing and were sampling the craziest beers, including one that tasted like chocolate milk (if you can’t ever find us one weekend in Knoxville, it’s because we came back here haha)! Mingling with some of our favorite marketing/sales executives from across the country, who were also invited to the retreat, and getting to enjoy them outside of the suits and ties was the perfect way to start of the weekend.

Our Friday morning was spent in engaging meetings, hearing from no less than 10 different speakers on topics ranging from empowering team members, wealth management and the power of positive thinking. Wanting our Cape Reserve team to relax after filling their brains with knowledge, we visited a comedy club that night and spent time exploring downtown Atlanta. Considering how different Knoxville and Atlanta are, we were soaking in every minute of their awesome culture! Did we mention we went to Varsity’s for hot-dogs, fries and ice cream and ate our body weight in food!?

By popular consensus though, our team’s favorite day was Saturday as we got to let our competitive flags fly with a few intense games of paintball. We may still be suffering from some pretty rowdy bruises (haha)! Saturday was complete with lunch in Piedmont park, followed by karaoke at Dark Horse Tavern and dancing the night away as Club Havana;  all popular and local attractions in the city! The rest of our team joined us on Sunday for a regional marketing/sales conference and heard from successful entrepreneurs in the industry about the mindset required to be highly accomplished in business and in life.

As you can imagine with such a full itinerary, our weekend flew by and before we knew it we were back on the road to Knoxville and work. Whereas most might have the “Sunday Blues”,  our team were all so energized to get back to the office and utilize what they learned from the motivational speakers and networking opportunities. Stay tuned to see some big things happening at Cape Reserve in April and keep an eye out on our Instagram for pictures from our time in Hotlanta! Next stop: Dallas!
